It is an undeniable fact that immigration is one of the most important issues in Greece these days.In our times immigrants as well as refugees face numerous social problems.However , what the future will bring is not clear.
First and foremost , it is worth mentioning that unless some measures are taken , immigrants will continue enduring suffocating pressure , rejection and arrogance from the locals which can in turn lead to their marginalization and therefore the rise of racism and the violation of ther personal rights.Also , immigrants are often accused of increasing unemployment although in reality they would probably fill some positions of low interest for the locals .What is more , most of the times immigrants are targeted without adequate evidence as responsible for various criminal activities with the absolute aim to disorientate the public opinion from the real reasons of the problem which are the state impotence and the absence of welfare state.Last but not least , the locals will exploit the immigrants need to make ends meet and therefore occupy them in low paid jobs with the minimum social secutity, if any .
However , all the problems can be prevented if some appropriate measures are taken. Specifically, the government should make sure that there are intergration programmes for immigrants that work property, as well as programmes that will ensure that all immigrants who wish to take the Greek nationality can do it. Also , there should be committee that will ensure that all measures mentioned above are in effect. Family can also be a role model of appropriate behaviour . Family should try to teach its members that all people are equal and have the same rights in life and therefore promote a democratic conscience. If parents stop living their lives according to false stereotypical standards their children will follow . Last but not least , school focus on educating its students and not promoting racism. Schools should do their best to ensure that immigrant children will get a proper education, which is every person's right, by highlighting the fact that all people live under the same sky and there are similar to each other despite their different origins.
It is obvious that the immigrant issue is not an issue that should be taken lightly.If our country doesn't do anything the situation can be easily out of control, but if the appropriate measures are taken everyone can co-exist peacefully together.
